Proofread every product and policy page your customers see

Store copy comes from themes, supplier feeds, apps, and policy templates. Verant reads the published Shopify storefront and returns each fix beside the buyer-facing text.

A scan visualized: Verant reads yourstore.myshopify.com the way a visitor does and catches 3 issues in place — each flagged fragment quoted verbatim, with the correction shown beside it, ready to fix.

Why Shopify teams use Verant

  • Product copy arrives in bulk — a CSV import, a supplier feed, an app — and the description on the four-hundredth product was never read by anyone on your team.

  • Theme sections come pre-filled — "Talk about your brand", "Welcome to our store" — and a section added for the layout can stay live with the sample text still in it.

  • The /policies/ pages are generated from Shopify's templates, edited once with your details, and then linked from every page — so a typo in the shipping policy is one click from every product.

How it works

  1. Paste the storefront URL — yourstore.myshopify.com or your custom domain. No app to install, nothing added to the theme.
  2. Verant reads the sitemap Shopify publishes and follows the store's own links into /products/, /collections/, /pages/, /blogs/, and /policies/ — the long tail of product URLs, not just the home page.
  3. Each page is read as the theme renders it, so a description that came in from a spreadsheet is read as the shopper sees it, and a section still holding the theme's sample text shows up as that text.
  4. The agent keeps only what it can defend, and a finding that repeats across every product — a shipping note pasted into each description — is one fix, made once.
  5. Open the product, page, or policy in the admin, paste the corrected line, save, and re-scan the same URL to confirm.

The crawl surface visualized: from yourstore.myshopify.com, Verant discovers and reads /products/waxed-canvas-tote, /collections/new-arrivals, /blogs/news/fall-lookbook, /policies/refund-policy — the URL families a whole-site scan walks on this platform.

On Shopify

On Shopify, Verant reads the published storefront — product descriptions, collection blurbs, /pages/ content, blog articles, and the /policies/ pages — as the theme serves them to a shopper. It follows the store's own URL families rather than only what the header menu links to, so a live product that fell out of the menu is still read. Checkout is Shopify-hosted and out of a crawl's reach, so the report covers the storefront a shopper browses before it.

  • Theme sample text still live: "Talk about your brand" above a rich-text section, "Welcome to our store" in the announcement bar, a demo quote in a testimonial block — flagged as placeholder text.
  • Lorem-ipsum product and About-Us descriptions left over from the theme's demo store, and product copy pasted in from a supplier with the supplier's typos intact.
  • The same shipping note or size chart pasted into hundreds of product descriptions, carrying the same typo into every one — a single finding that is one fix across the catalog.

What ‘verified’ means

Storefront scans stay actionable: every flag quotes buyer-facing text, and weak suggestions are dropped.

  • It does not check links — no broken-link, redirect, or link-validation auditing.
  • It does not fact-check — it proofreads how copy reads, not whether a claim is true.
  • It does not enforce a brand voice or terminology database — there is no custom style guide to configure.
  • It does not audit accessibility, SEO metadata, or HTML validity — it proofreads written copy, not WCAG, meta tags, or markup.

Frequently asked questions

Does Verant work on a Shopify store?

Yes. Paste the storefront URL — yourstore.myshopify.com or your custom domain — and Verant reads every public product, collection, page, blog article, and policy page as your theme serves it. No app, no theme edit, no admin access.

Can Verant read a large Shopify catalog?

Yes. It follows the sitemap and the store's own /products/ and /collections/ links, up to 500 pages per crawl on the top plan. For a bigger catalog, start with the collections that sell most and work outward.

Does Verant check the Shopify checkout?

No. Shopify hosts the checkout and a crawl cannot reach it, so the report covers the storefront a shopper browses first — products, collections, the cart page, policies. The cart page and the announcement bar are theme copy, so they are read.

Do you offer a free tier?

Two single-page scans and one full-site sample, free. No account or card.

Is my website content kept private?

Scanning is read-only and covers only public pages; we do not train on your content. Stripe handles card details.

How is this different from Grammarly or Sapling?

Grammarly and Sapling PageCheck focus on the one page you paste, and show every suggestion their agent makes — including false positives. Verant crawls your entire site and throws out weak suggestions before you see them. What you see is a short, high-precision list — not a pile of noise.
