Open Graph checker
Paste a page address to check its Open Graph tags. See the share card, read the tags behind it, and find what is missing.
A link preview checker for Slack, iMessage, LinkedIn, and X
See the image, title, and description before you share the link.
A share card as a messaging app draws it: the og:image on top, then the og:title, one line of og:description, and the domain.
When someone pastes your link, the app fetches the page and builds a link preview: an image, a title, a line of description, the domain. Slack, iMessage, and LinkedIn read the Open Graph tags. X reads its twitter:* tags first and uses the Open Graph tags where those are missing. The page gets judged on those four things before anyone reads it.
The checker reads the tags in the HTML your server sends and builds a share card preview. Each app can crop or cache the card differently. After you fix a tag, ask the app to read the page again: the Facebook Sharing Debugger and the LinkedIn Post Inspector refresh their stored card.
Check the Open Graph tags behind the card
og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url, twitter:card, plus the page title and meta description.
The head tags behind Stripe’s share card, one per row with a verdict: the title, og:title, og:description, og:image, and twitter:card are all present and inside their lengths.
They live in the head of the page. A missing og:image turns the card into a plain text link. A long og:title gets cut mid-word. The checklist under the card names each tag, says whether it is there, and what to change.
It reads the HTML your server sends, so tags added by JavaScript after load will not show. Most sharing apps do not run JavaScript either, so that is the honest picture.
Check the page people open next
The card gets the click. The published page needs its own copy check.
A fixes ledger: each row names the page or tag, quotes the flagged text, and gives the correction beside it.
After you check the tags, scan the visible words on the page: headings, body copy, buttons, and footers. Verant quotes each finding with a suggested fix. You make the change in your editor.
Check the page below the card. The first 2 pages are free, no account needed.

Frequently asked questions
What does the Open Graph checker show?
It shows a share card preview and a checklist for og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url, twitter:card, the page title, and the meta description. Check one public page at a time, free with no account.
Why does my link show no image?
Usually because og:image is missing, points at a relative path, or uses http on an https page. Add og:image with an absolute https URL to an image that exists, then re-share; some apps cache the old card for a day or more.
What size should og:image be?
1200 by 630 pixels is the size every major platform accepts, under 5 MB, as a JPEG or PNG. Keep the important part of the picture in the middle; some apps crop to a square.
Why does the preview differ from what Slack or LinkedIn shows?
Each app caches cards, so a tag you changed today may not show until the cache clears. Some apps also prefer twitter:* tags over og:* tags, or fall back to the page title when a tag is missing. The checklist shows which tags are actually present.
How do I refresh a link preview after I change the tags?
Most apps keep the card they built for a while. The Facebook Sharing Debugger and the LinkedIn Post Inspector let you ask them to read the page again. Other apps refresh on their own schedule.
Does it read tags added by JavaScript?
No. It reads the HTML your server sends, which is what sharing apps read too. If your og tags are injected by a script after load, most cards will not see them; render them server-side.
Do I need twitter:* tags as well as og:* tags?
X reads og:* tags as a fallback, but it needs twitter:card to decide the layout; without it you get the small summary card. Add twitter:card with summary_large_image and let the og:* tags carry the rest.
